I’m Melissa Chamberlain, the photographer behind A Pocket of Time Photography.
The first question I usually get is “how did I get into photography?” So, here is my story… I took photography as an elective back in high school, back when we worked with film. But it wasn’t until my friends started having kids that I rediscovered my love for photography.
I was working as a publicist in corporate communications (international television specifically) when the economy crashed, and I was suddenly unemployed and with a lot of free time on my hands. I used this time to photograph my friend’s kids, took as many classes as I could afford and worked hard to fine-tune my skills. From there A Pocket of Time Photography was born.
I’ve now been married for more than 10 years to my amazing British husband and together we have one adorable 6-year-old son, two crazy dogs, and three cute pufferfish.
